Tips for Traveling with a Digital Camera

Photography, by Donncha.

Common sense tips from Shirley. When I travel I tend to bring along as much memory as possible, batteries and a charger, and if I get the opportunity, I’ll burn my photos onto several CDs, carrying one on my person/hand luggage and another in stowed luggage. But that’s just paranoid me!

  1. Speaking of memory, did you see the brilliant deal on a 2.2Gb Microdrive I got the other day, well worth a look I can tell ye!

  2. This is a great tip. However, doesn’t burning the photos to a CD/DVD mean that you would have to bring your laptop with you. I’ll admit I do bring my laptop on vacation with me sometimes, but definitely not all the time. What would you suggest would be the best way to safeguard the photos if you couldn’t burn them? Hey, what about uploading them to a photo site like Flickr or some other service on the road at a Kinko’s or internet cafe. That might be a good option too. Just thinking out loud. :) Great post. I’m definitely going to check out the rest of your site.
