You can't see it in <a href="http://ocaoimh.ie/2005/09/01/an-fear-marbh/" rel="nofollow">this picture</a> but from a nearby vantage point it's well visible and just goes to show that the Irish have always had it... In those days, men were men, and women were men too. So a few splinters wouldn't have put them off. The orgies bit is a logical progression of the assumption that they suffered from far fewer hangups [but not necessarily hangovers] in those days. Don't forget - this was long before Saint Paddy. They knew how to live.. Oh! And by the way... I'm putting in for planning permission for a round tower on An Fear Marbh. It would add that final touch? I stand by my argument.
