A day of happy and sad

Donncha, by Donncha.

A year ago today I married the most amazing and wonderful woman I know, Jacinta. She’s the love of my life, beautiful, caring, sensitive and the mother of our son Adam. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

We had planned an anniversary lunch and Adam had been changed for the umpteenth time, ready for the trip, but then we found out that Jacinta’s sister Gerarda had passed away peacefully in her sleep during the night. Life has been turned upside down.

Turning Japanese – a song Gerry and Jacinta went mad dancing to in the front garden to annoy a neighbour!

Find a nice photo of a Gerarda and put it up on view to remind of the happy times

  10. Donncha, I’m so sorry to hear that, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

  11. Thank you all for your kind comments! Funeral is on Saturday morning but it’s been tough finding a church because of all the holy communions going on.

  12. Hang in there and be strong. As bad as this is, remember that a funeral is also a time to celebrate a life and what better joy than celebrating your new life and family in your sister-in-laws’ memory. Faith and courage, my friend.

  13. I was trying to work out what to say and Lorelle just did it. Ditto.

  14. It’s sad to hear that this kind of thing has happened. I hope you get church by the time and even more that during this painfully sad times you get support from people around you. I know from personal experience that it’s not easy to handle all emotions when someone close to you dies. All good for you and your family/friends at these difficult times.

  15. I add my condolences to you and Jacinta as well.
