Bad Company 2 VIP Map Pack 7

Oh DICE! How you pull at our heart strings! For months you released map packs that were little more than gameplay mode packs, enabling new modes on existing maps. Now, when Bad Company 2 is facing stiff competition from the upcoming Black Ops you release a map pack with actual new maps!

Details are on the official blog post, but here’s a snippet from it:

VIP Map Pack 7 is on its way to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. This pack will include four maps never before available in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer, two of them being fan favorites Oasis and Harvest Day. As always, this content is free for PC and console VIP players. Read on for the full story.

Map 1: Oasis
Origin: Battlefield: Bad Company multiplayer
Game modes: Rush, Conquest, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch

Map 2: Harvest Day
Origin: Battlefield: Bad Company multiplayer
Game modes: Rush, Conquest, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch

Map 3: Cold War
Origin: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 singleplayer
Game modes: Rush, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch

Map 4: Heavy Metal
Origin: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 singleplayer
Game modes: Conquest, Squad Rush, Squad Deathmatch

Can’t wait to get my hands on those!

I’m thankful to finally be getting some new maps but what is with DICE and never releasing any dates for all their updates. I was figuring I was going to be pretty much retiring BFBC2 till Vietnam but if this comes out soon, Black Ops may not be getting the attention from me I thought it would.

Yeah, I haven’t checked the online store yet for a release date yet but it probably won’t be there as it wasn’t in that post.

It does say to check back Wednesday for a review of “Heavy Metal” so presumably it won’t be for another few days, and after Black Ops comes out.

Just checked the store and there’s no mention of it so it’s anybody’s guess as to when this will be released. Probably be before the end of the month though.

Funny that Heavy Metal is open to Squad Rush, but not plain Rush.

I’ll have to fire up BC1 on the Xbox and try out those new levels. Bet there’s a lot more players on that in the last 24 hours :)

They better release it soon. I’m about to give up on the same boring maps….
