WP-Cache 2.0.20 released

I wouldn’t normally mention a minor release of a plugin but the new version of WP Cache 2 incorporates (among other fixes) my patch that stops the cache being deleted when a spam comment is made. If you run a busy site, then it’s definitely worth downloading and upgrading!

Saddam Hussein should have rotted in prison

Why didn’t they let him rot in prison for the rest of his life? I can’t imagine that conditions in an Iraqi prison are anything to write home about and he wouldn’t have been popular with most other prisoners. Instead they hang him and he becomes a martyr. Nothing good will come of taking another [...]

How to confuse the police

What happens when someone rings two police stations at the same time on two phones and they hold the phones together? Claire has the answer. Must have been a meteorite hit the lines but they’re alright in Westport and Castlebarr. Gammagoblin has made a Google Video of the phone call! The Red Cardinal found another [...]

Choosing a memory foam mattress

Yawn. The mundane things in life are top of my agenda today. We’re looking for a new mattress and considering how much time is spent asleep in bed it’s criminal not to buy the best you can afford. From research it appears that memory foam mattresses are the best to go for. I would certainly [...]

I understand it might take several hours for changes to the filter to become active, but 4 days? creativeinterview.com has been on my list since the 22nd of December but I still saw it appear on the [...]

Strawberries in December

It’s a sign of the times. We eat fresh strawberries in the middle of winter. They may have travelled thousands of miles and be overpriced but there’s a ready market here for fresh fruit all year round. They are lovely in porridge first thing in the morning or even with Corn Flakes. They make the [...]

Nothing left to read

My aggregator is empty. Things are quiet on the Internet and I’ve finally clicked and scanned through every one of the 230+ blogs in my Bloglines account. But no, that’s not true. I opened The Dilbert Blog in a new tab for further reading because Scott Adams always seems to have something that will catch [...]

Superman vs Batman

Batman would so-have a Bat Missile Defence Gadget in his utility belt. I don’t care what Superman says! And here’s a rather cool “trailer” for a Superman and Batman film. Now, that I’d like to see! It’s a fan film and not in production, but it’s done really well.
