Wow, Flock is fast! I wonder if it chews memory like FF 1.5 too?
It’s also a lot more polished than when I tried it a few months back while debugging their sign up page on WordPress.com: preferences, cookies and form data were all imported from Firefox. The little Greasemonkey face isn’t showing in the status bar so I’ll have to install that again.
Oh, and it doesn’t spew out a ton of debug messages to the console any more!

Installed it, yawned, uninstalled it. The “social networking” thing is great, but not for me. Although Firefox does suck the monkey when it comes to memory management these days — I had to install another 2GB of RAM because it regularly eat a majority of the 512MB that was in my machine. Ok ok, I just wanted more RAM, but they really need to do something about it. 180 MB right now, with three tabs. Madness.
Loads of toys to play with today: Flock, Google Browser Sync, Picasa Web Albums; and I need to repurpose a machine so I’m currently updating the Fedora Core 5 replacement running in VMware via ssh, which always feels pretty cool. (How do you mean it’s running on this machine, you’re sshed into it!?) I’m like a child in a toy shop that sells sweeties AND ice cream.

I tried it when the first beta came out, I thought it was ok but just … ok. Has it improved much do ya think?

I bought an extra gig of RAM to cope with my browsing habits using Firefox. Currently flock-bin is using 119MB resident memory which isn’t bad. I’ll report back at the end of the day after the browser has been open for a few hours.
One peeve I have with it is that each tab has a close button. This takes up too much room when you have a dozen tabs open. Looks like there’s a hack to stop that behaviour. Must try that.

@Donncha: Firefox 2.0 (Bon Echo) also has individual close buttons. I haven’t found them too annoying, then again, with 12 tabs open my poor laptop (which has ff2 installed) dies on me.

dunno about you guys, but I only have 256 megs of RAM, and Firefox chews about 60 of them (according to top and common sense, if it ate 500 megs my computer would have turned into a turtle) with like 12 tabs open and the browser running since last night…

I must say i’m pleased. I’ve got 1 Gb of ram and it runs like a charm. Very pleased with the fact that i can use flock for blogging and creating flickr-sets.
Like a glove…
