The original Install-sendmail page is a little fscked up, so here’s another: http://blogs.linux.ie/xeer/install-sendmail/
There’s a download link to the newest release, which is probably the last. You should really be looking at Postfix, Exim, or any of the other easier to configure MTAs.
Not Qmail, of course. That piece of software is evil.

QMail was the first MTA I ever had to configure. You should have seen the expression on my face when I figured out it was actually working.
