Double clutching

I didn’t know what Paul on #linux was going on about, so I looked it up: double clutching for dummies. Lots of info, and technical details.

syncromesh is NOT a type of clutch it is a type of transmission, one without “synchronizers” which allow smooth shifting “synchros” as they are called are modern equiptment although with semis that have so many gears they don’t do a very good job

Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply it /is/ a clutch. “Uses friction, as a clutch does,” would have been better wording possibly. Read my actual blog entry, there are links to detailed explanations of synchromesh.
