Spammers have been busy!

The spammers were busy last night and this morning! I received some 20 comment spams and notifications are still coming in. So, now when you go into the comment moderation page, when you “delete” comments, they actually are deleted from the database now.
To delete old comment spams simply open up the “Deleted Comments” page and hit “Submit All”.
So, to the spammers.. don’t bother. You’re not going to get through here!
Later.. On suggestions from Pronnsias I modified the Comment Validation page further and put the comments inside textareas, and added links to the New, OK and Delete header fields. Clicking on them will auto-select the associated checkboxes. A Javascript error occurs but it still seems to work, in Mozilla at least.
Later still.. Until the storm of comment spam drops off, notification emails are disabled. Check the Comment Moderation link during the day if you see comment number increase during the day!

I must have been lucky! I receive 20 comment spams like twice a week. Thank goodness there’s Akismet. :D

I’m in the middle of writing my website’s design WordPress theme and am coming from Blogger.

Blogger comments are ugly, but I NEVER get spam.

Should I stop and stay with Blogger?

A couple thing Blogger gives me is my PHP stylesheet switcher works and most of the dynamic blog content I can reproduce on my main page.

With WordPress, I gather all that stays on sidebar for the /blog only. And I’ve never heard of anyone losing Blogger comments, though WordPress and MT databases seem to disappear or crash.

However, AJAX comments and inline comments are cool.

Yet spam is such a problem I’ve purposely not linked back to my site.

Last 48 hours “catch”first 139 Spam’s and 8 hours later 119, all from Russia and Rumania, trying to convince me to use their casino play options.
Why don’t we shut the iron cutain again and let these communistic bastards play their own game ?
Enjoy your day,
Paul
