I went searching freshmeat for genealogy software and found several insteresting projects. MplayerXP – multi-threaded Mplayer. I can’t imagine the original author will take this lying down, even though it’s perfectly legal to do so, and covered by the GPL.

The previously mentioned article on open software and the “conditions attached” to it has a response from Kevin Lyda in this ILUG message. It would seem that violating the GPL is easier/less costly to rectify than violating a closed source license such as those protected by the BSA.
damn, damn, damn, damn, damn… I’m invited to two weddings on the 27th of July this summer. Both couples are good friends, both weddings will be great fun, I want to go to both weddings. *sigh*
Owen got his insurance renewal this year. I think I’ll only be able to pay for 6 months on the car, there’s going to be lots of expenses this summer.
